Background Research
When I did advanced research on eBay, I found that the founding story was very romantic. The founder Omidyar wanted to build a platform for his girlfriend to communicate with people who also like PEZ Candy boxes.
I was attached to this story and put it as the beginning of the whole work.
eBay
eBay is a global online shopping website for people to manage online sales of goods. eBay was founded on September 4, 1995, by Pierre Omidyar under the name of auction web in San Jose, California. People can sell goods online on eBay.

Establish Story
It was founded in September 1995, when Omidyar's girlfriend loved PEZ Candy boxes but was worried that she couldn't find someone to communicate with. So Omidyar set up an auction website, hoping to help his girlfriend communicate with PEZ Candy Box lovers all over the United States. This is eBay. What Omidyar didn't expect was that eBay was very popular, and soon the website was crowded with fans who collected PEZ Candy boxes, Barbie dolls, and other items.


At the same time, I also did some research on eBay's active users, and the data shows that both sellers and buyers are gradually globalized.
The following data shows that eBay has made some changes during its development.
How might we make eBay stand out from lots of online shopping platforms?
Compared with other companies, which have huge users, how can I highlight eBays advantages? What advantages do I need to amplify?

Support small companies, individuals, and small business owners
According to the research, I want to make the audience pay attention to eBay's emphasis on user emotion. It prefers communication between users without an intermediary, which is global and efficient.
Therefore, I want to get closer to users through the next primary research to understand the real emotional changes when they use this platform. Here are the insights from the interviews. And listed some other key insights here, such as more items for make options, can sell unused items on ebay to exchange for other valuable items.

01 As an American platform with a long history, eBay has strong competition and a large number of active users, so I will start from the details, first introduce its efficient emotional trading mode, and then expand to the indispensable position of credit and people's life. Finally, from the details to the number of global users, to reflect its market share and future development prospects. In the early part of the details of the important embodiment of product diversification, through a certain contrast, to express that this is an infinite possible trading platform. The latter part mainly reflects the globalization of users, and shows its leading position through these two main aspects.
02 Starting from the emotional point of view, this paper briefly tells the romantic story of the beginning of the creation of the eBay platform, which was derived from the communication between sellers and buyers. It reflects an efficient and emotional form of communication, and then extends to one-to-one communication, no middleman transaction, reflecting the maximized and unlimited benefit, and then narrows down to people all over the world who freely trade and exchange goods on this platform They are communicating.
